How I got here
My journey into photography began about 10 years ago when a friend invited me to go birding at Magee Marsh Wildlife Area, one of the most famous spring migration locations along Lake Erie. What started as a simple outing quickly became a passion. I was fascinated by the challenge of capturing fleeting moments in nature and learning how light, timing, and composition could transform a scene into a photograph worth sharing.
As my skills grew, I began photographing friends’ show dogs while they were campaigning, which introduced me to a new side of photography—capturing movement, personality, and precision. My work from the dog show world has been featured in ads within respected publications such as The Canine Chronicle and ShowSight Magazine, experiences that strengthened my confidence behind the camera and deepened my appreciation for professional-quality imagery.
After 27 years with my previous employer, I was recently laid off—a moment that ultimately gave me the opportunity to pursue something I truly enjoy. That turning point led me to start Sarah Armstrong Photography, focusing on real estate photography in the Toledo area.
Today, I combine my passion for photography with a commitment to helping real estate professionals present their listings in the best possible light. My goal is to create bright, clean, and inviting images that highlight each home’s character and help listings stand out online.
Whether I’m photographing a home, a champion show dog, wildlife along Lake Erie, or my own dogs in the backyard, my goal is always the same: to create clean, natural images that tell a story and leave a lasting impression.
